A party promoter is facing possible charges for breaching the allotted time for an event in St James that became a crime scene after two patrons were fatally shot by armed men. One of the victims hails from Trelawny, the other from St James adding to four murders in four days in the western parish.
Four murders in four days culminated early Sunday morning when two patrons at a party in Canaan, Dumfries were gunned down at about 1:45. That’s after gunmen crashed the permitted event that overran its 11 pm cut-off. The victims have been identified as 22-year-old Jevannie Gordon, a resident of Salt Marsh in neighbouring Trelawny and 33-year-old Dumfries, St James resident Adolphus Holder otherwise called ‘Goldball’.
They were among a group of persons at the event when they were approached by gunmen who shot them several times all over their bodies.
When the police arrived, they saw Holder lying on the ground on his back in a pool of blood with gunshot wounds to his head and upper body. Gordon who was shot in the neck transported to the Falmouth Public Hospital by residents where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Holder was later pronounced dead at the hospital. Residents have been mum on the issue but Pastor Miguel Samuels had a message of peace. While he notes the need to blame scamming, poverty, and several other factors he opines what’s crucial is hope and the ability to earn a decent living. Watch the report:
