Criminals wreaked havoc in sections of Montego Bay, St. James on Wednesday, October 6, shooting several persons and at least two fatally. Crammed streets and anxious onlookers were features of the deadly ordeal that culminated at the intersection of Mccatty Street in St. James. By this, two men laid lifeless, one on the tar and the other in the back seat of this black Toyota Mark X.
Timid onlookers whispered the story of the chaos that allegedly spanned west gate into the town of Montego Bay. Preliminary reports are that thugs chasing men in a Toyota Mark X sprayed bullets at their intended targets through sections of the parish before crashing into several vehicles while escaping. It is alleged bullets rained as the men in the black Mark X allegedly tried to escape their attackers quick on their trail.
One onlooker alleges men in a silver Mark X opened fire at the occupants of the black vehicle before the driver of the black Mark X slammed into this wholesale. It is also alleged the criminals sat on the windows using high-powered weapons, to aim at their targets.
Police on the scene from early afternoon refrained from commenting as they say their work was far from concluded at that time. While the police have not yet confirmed the identities of the deceased males, they say this appears to be the spin-off of a gang conflict.
It is also alleged several people were injured and vehicles damaged during the chase. Two people suffering gunshot wounds were also taken to hospital. The day’s events brought traffic in the narrow lanes to a standstill, as crime scene investigators combed the bloodied scene.
