Detectives assigned to the Area Three Major Investigation Division have charged the two men who were arrested in the aftermath of the murder of four family members in Havanah Heights, Clarendon on Sunday, September 12.
Dead are two sisters, a nephew, and a boyfriend of one of the sisters, and almost two weeks later the police have charged two people for the murders.
38-year-old Oral Richards, otherwise called ‘Creamy’, and 24-year-old Andre Bennett, otherwise called ‘Hamma’ have both been charged with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition and four counts of murder.
Both men are from Cherry Tree Lane, Four Paths in Clarendon. Reports are that about 12:10 a.m., all four persons were at home when armed men gained access to the house and opened gunfire at them. The victims were taken to the hospital where they were pronounced dead.
The deceased persons were later identified as 25-year-old Sherona Whyte, 33-year-old Tashawna Whyte, 27-year-old Michael Soloman, and 19-year-old Luke Newman.
Commissioner of Police, Major General Antony Anderson says another four people are in custody in relation to the murders and a few more people are being investigated. Major General Anderson says he has taken note of the pattern of retaliation in recent times. The Police Commissioner says that commendation must be given to members of the force for their swift investigation.
