A major investment at the Kingston wharves is expected to position Jamaica as the region’s leader in maritime and logistic offerings. Prime Minister Andrew Holness says the projects will not only yield major job and investment opportunities but avail locals to higher skillset overtime.
Positioning Jamaica to be the region’s maritime centre is among the many expectations of the three major investments to come at the Kingston wharves. Prime Minister Holness says the country is poised to become a maritime leader in the Americas. He says the country must stay the course to maximize on the returns anticipated from the 60 million us dollar investment.
The PM says the new customs regulations are well advanced and will be complimented with new logistics facilities and measures to limit narco-trafficking and smuggling.
