Prof. Densil Williams, the Pro Vice-Chancellor and Principal of UWI Mona highlights the institution’s goal to generate at least one billion dollars in the upcoming academic year. This financial target may prompt adjustments to the pricing structure of various courses, as some are currently deemed underpriced.
Williams emphasizes the necessity of adapting prices to strengthen the institution, acknowledging that certain courses may require recalibration. Despite the involvement of private sector contributions pro bono in some aspects of the transformation, the proposed changes are subject to approval by the University Council. It is important to note that there is no guarantee that course prices will definitively increase, as final decisions rest with the University Council. The UWI Mona Campus anticipates a dynamic shift in the new academic year, bringing about a significant transformation in its academic landscape.
