Vaz Orders Operational Assessment at Int’l Airports

Following recent operational challenges, Transport Minister Daryl Vaz has initiated a comprehensive safety and operational evaluation for both the Norman Manley International Airport, NMIA, and the Sangster International Airport. These actions come in response to specific incidents. In July, a planned power shutdown at the NMIA resulted in significant flight delays, while the events of August 10 saw disruption at the Sangster International Airport due to ongoing facility work, leading to flight cancellations and chaotic situations. The Minister emphasizes that the subsequent actions will be determined by the outcomes of these assessments. Watch the report:
