Following several reports of residents demanding repairs to the Waltham Park Main Road, the National Works Agency (NWA) has intervened. The once deplorable roadway on the brink of collapse is now partially fixed. Following constant cries of residents and motorists, daily traffic build up and even a few robberies, the deplorable condition of the Waltham Park Main Road has finally been addressed.
Just a few weeks ago, taxi operators told CVM Live the damaged road was affecting their livelihoods as they were unable to complete the number of trips they’re accustomed to doing. They also complained of having to frequently purchase new car parts as the road dismantled their front ends, tires and more. As highlighted in a previous CVM Live report, the genesis of the road issue is the gully. Lynch says although grateful the road has been somewhat repaired, he cannot help but worry it will soon be damaged again noting the gully is still not being cleaned regularly.
A business woman told our news team she too is concerned of what will happen when it rains. She says the partial fix was a good gesture but she’s urging the national works agency to finish what they started. Efforts to get a comment from the national works agency Friday, proved futile.
