Tensions ran high during Tuesday’s sitting of the Integrity Commission, IC, Oversight Committee, as two government ministers engaged in a heated exchange, with one accusing the other of suppressing the truth. The discord arose from a question that hinted at a member of the Integrity Commission having political affiliations and motivations.
Government Minister Everald Warmington abruptly grabbed his belongings and left the meeting shortly after it commenced. His departure came following his inquiry into the potential political connections of a senior director at the Integrity Commission with the People’s National Party, PNP.
Committee Chairman, Edmund Bartlett, intervened to halt such line of questioning, emphasizing that the committee is not the appropriate platform to make assumptions or attack anyone’s character.
