In a bid to create more scenic spaces across the island Prime Minister Andrew Holness is focused on remodeling the Spanish Town road and Washington Boulevard corridors – highlighting that these roadways are used to enter the country’s capital.
Another recreational park is being developed, this time in Marverly, Kingston. The project is slated for two phases, the first of which will cost 48 million dollars and will begin in the next two weeks. Phase two will see to the completion of the park and the development of green spaces across the municipality. Speaking at the ground-breaking ceremony, Prime Minister Andrew Holness announced plans to conduct major infrastructural work on Washington Boulevard and Spanish Town road. He explains that the redesign is not only for the efficiency of traffic, but will also improve the aesthetics. The Prime Minister adds that the corridor leading into the country’s capital should create a sense of pride and joy among Jamaicans. Prime Minister Holness says the government’s objective is to build one major park for each parish, including Portmore which he says will become a parish, soon.
