Pastors and other stakeholders in Westmoreland came together to discuss solutions to solving the growing crime in the parish. They are calling for the government to provide the resources needed to tackle the issue.
The recent upsurge in crime and violence in Westmoreland has sparked fear among citizens in the parish. Concerns have also been raised by the church community.
Custos of Westmoreland Reverend Hartley Perrin says a meeting was held with some pastors in the parish. Perrin says all concerns were discussed at the meeting, which was productive.
He is calling on the government to provide the necessary resources to combat crime in the parish. In the meantime, Christopher Burt Pastor of the Nazarene church shared a solution with our news team. He adds this meeting alone will not solve the issue noting there must be commitment.
