WHO urges donors: Vaccines have been rolled out in several countries across the globe and are currently being used in an ongoing series of test trials.
However, the World Health Organization (WHO) is appealing to donors to respond briskly in order to manage the virus efficiently.
The Organization on Friday, December 11 hosted a media briefing on the recent roll out of vaccines in several countries.
Additionally, the Director General of the WHO, Dr. Tedros Ghebreyesus is urging donors to respond with alacrity that vaccines can be made readily available.
Dr. Tedros also says that a billion doses of three vaccine candidates have been secured and 189 countries have been involved in the testing process. He says there’s ongoing dialogue with other manufacturers for further deals.
The WHO boss says repercussions of the pandemic have forced individuals to take greater initiative in support of their health.
