The tragic end of a couple suspected to be the victims of a murder-suicide in Manchester on Tuesday has left relatives in grief and shock. The wife’s parents remember the couple who died on their twelfth anniversary, and the moments with their daughter before the worst came.
When police found the lifeless body of Scotiabank employee, Stephanie Ellis on Tuesday covered in blood on the floor of what was once her safe haven, a home she shared with her husband Ricky, there were reportedly signs of trauma to her face.
The suspected murder weapon, a crowbar nearby on the floor. Her husband’s body was later discovered hanging from a beam. Shock gripped the community but fear and heartache rocked their loved ones. Their bodies were found on what would have been their 12th wedding anniversary but relatives say the couple was going through the throes of a divorce.
Despite only suspicion of a murder-suicide, Mrs Marshal insists the settlement and apportioning of assets was a major point of contention within the marriage, and death threats were allegedly made by the late husband. Mrs Marshall says it was right at the garage door that her daughter met her demise.
