A British woman reportedly committed suicide at the Negril Police Station in Westmoreland on Tuesday. The police have yet to release her identity but informed us that she recently arrived on the island. It is now suggested that she was suspected of suffering from a mental disorder. Around 6:00 in the morning, the police responded to a call from a nearby resort about a female guest behaving unusually. The officers transported her to the police station, and while waiting inside the guard room to be taken to a medical facility, she requested to use the bathroom. When she did not return, officers discovered she had locked herself inside. They forced the door open and found her body hanging from the bathroom sill, having used a makeshift rope made from torn clothing. The scene was processed, and the body was removed to the morgue.
