The St. Catherine Police have charged the man in the viral voicenote, heard threatening a woman.
The man whose name is Peter Maye is a 46-year-old farmer from Hartlands District in St. Catherine. He was charged with Malicious Communication and Preventing a Person from Buying or Selling.
According to the police, at about 8:20 pm Maye called the complainant via the phone after which he made several threats to kill her. The complainant, who is a farmer at the Ocho Rios Market, became fearful for her life and as a result stopped going to the market.
However, the police heard of the situation and carried out an investigation. This resulted in the woman being located.
Maye was later arrested on Saturday, April 2.
He was subsequently charged on Wednesday, April 7. His court date is being finalised.
