Minister Hutchinson: Resignation Amid The Holland Property Controversy Are Baseless

William J.C Hutchinson Minister without Portfolio in the Ministry of Industry Commerce, Agriculture, and Fisheries believes calls for his resignation amid the Holland Property controversy are baseless.

He says he had done nothing wrong as he already explained the details of the agreement in a press release earlier this week.

Hutchinson’s son has a Farm supplies store on the property, but Hutchinson says he is not aware of the arrangements which led to his son opening the establishment.

Hutchinson is a member of parliament for the constituency where Holland property is located. He says he is only aware of arrangements between Holland producers limited and SCJ Holdings.

Despite multiple accusations of nepotism, Hutchinson says he had no influence over the arrangements between Holland Producers limited and SCJ Holdings.

Opposition spokesman on agriculture victor wright says the matter must be addressed and action taken.

The moratorium on the land expired on June 30.

Hutchinson says anyone who expressed an interest in the land had the same opportunity as Holland Producers.

Since the controversy came to light Lola Marshall Williams, partner of J.C. Hutchinson has resigned from her position as director at Holland Producers Limited.
