New Vaccination Cards to be Given to Some Jamaicans

Vaccination cards that have been issued to members of the public with the manufacturer’s information “SII” should visit a permanent vaccination station to acquire an updated card, according to the Ministry of Health & Wellness

These individuals are being advised to bring their current vaccination cards to a permanent site mentioned on the Ministry’s vaccination web portal, vaccination.moh.gov.jm.

The Ministry notes that this adjustment comes as it wants to ensure that the immunization card has all of the manufacturer’s information and to reduce any difficulties that Jamaicans might face while traveling.

Meanwhile, the Ministry notes that the administration of the AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson vaccines to those aged 18 and over is still in progress. The Ministry adds that children aged 12 and up, as well as people aged 50 and up, can get the Pfizer vaccine.

According to the Health Ministry, a total of 1,087,313 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been delivered as of 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 24. There were 588,371 initial doses, 433,174 second doses, and 65,768 single doses out of that total.

Jamaicans are being advised by the Ministry to get vaccinated against COVID-19 to protect themselves against serious disease, hospitalization, and death.

Members of the public are asked to make their appointment using the Ministry of Health & Wellness’s website (www.moh.gov.jm) or by calling the National Vaccination Call Centre at 888-ONE-LOVE (888-663-5683) to be vaccinated.
