Parents of Child in Viral Video Urged to Turn Themselves In

UPDATED, September 24, 2020 – The Police has reported that the mother of the child is in Police Custody. She was picked up by Police Investigators in the Red Ground District in Old Harbour, this morning.

The parents of the child in a viral social media video are being urged to turn themselves in.

The video which has been circulating from earlier this week shows the child holding a cigarette in his mouth while an adult encourages him to drink what appears to be an alcoholic beverage. Additionally, the adults can be heard calling out expletives in the presence of the child.

The parents are being asked to turn themselves in to the nearest police station by 6:00 p.m. today.

The child and parents have been identified, as well as the location in the video.  The parents are therefore asked to turn themselves into the Police or their names will be published as Persons of Interest.

Additionally, anyone with information that can assist the police with their investigation is being asked to contact the Old Harbour Police at 876-983-2255, Police 119 emergency number or the nearest Police Station.
