Just days after Chairman of the National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA), Dennis Chung told Cvm Live that short-term and long-term plans are being implemented to combat irregular garbage collection, People’s National Party (NSWMA) minority leader Councillor Andrew Swaby says the excuse of inadequate trucks will no longer suffice.
The minority leader, while speaking at a town hall meeting in Duhaney Park on Thursday, says the National Solid Waste Management Authority’s plight of limited trucks is consequent of them failing to honour their financial commitment to private contractors.
Councillor Swaby says the National Solid Waste Management Authority ( NSWMA) must be held accountable for the state of the country. He notes that residents are forced to dump their garbage in inappropriate places, as he says National Solid Waste Management Authority is failing to collect the waste regularly.
Former Executive Director of the National Solid Waste Management Authority Joan Gordon Webley also agrees. National Solid Waste Management Authority Chairman recently confirmed that 50 trucks are to arrive by November, to alleviate collection strains. More details here:
