JLP Pledges A “Stronger Future” – A ten-point recovery plan to “build back Jamaica stronger” post-COVID-19. The Jamaica Labor Party (JLP) has launched its manifesto, a pledge it says to the people of Jamaica, should the party be returned for a second term.
Recovery amid a global health crisis is at the heart of the party’s manifesto. Maintaining macro-economic stability is the top priority. The party is also looking to introduce a 20-billion dollar public-private COVID-19 recovery equity fund. The manifesto vows to allocate 10,000 affordable homes for purchase by young persons aged 18 – 35 with 100% financing. It also has a commitment to build 70-thousand houses, 30% will be reserved for policemen, nurses, teachers & other civil servants. A number of investments were highlighted in health-care and education.
