Jamaica: COVID-19 Patients Allowed To Vote

The government has updated the advice on having COVID-19 patients vote in the General Election. The office of the prime minister has released guidelines that those who have contracted the virus and wish to vote must follow.

As of Sunday, August 30, Jamaica has 1374 active COVID-19 cases. General Secretary for the People’s National Party (PNP), Julian Robinson says the government cannot deny citizens the right to vote.

Robinson who recently confirmed he tested positive for COVID-19 is the candidate for South East St. Andrew. He says he will be casting his vote on Thursday.

But some members of the public are not too positive about this (COVID-19 patients being allowed to vote).
