Salt River Residents Without Water For Decades – Residents in Salt River Settlement Clarendon want their thirst for potable water to be quenched.

For decades the residents say their water woes have been unending.

This elderly man says it has been a life without running water.

The residents say despite their constant plea, they are often left with empty promises and empty barrels.

The color of the vegetation is testimony to the severity of the drought in the area.

They residents explain that their frustration is getting worse.

This resident says she hopes to start farming but the lack of access to water is creating a major hindrance.

Caretaker Patricia Duncan Sutherland says the water crisis is one of the lasting effects of the closure of the Monymusk sugar factory.
