In Friday’s sitting of the Upper House of Parliament, Senator Kamina Johnson-Smith highlighted the long-standing diplomatic relations between Jamaica and other nations since independence.
Senator Johnson-Smith also outlined various projects and partnerships that have benefited Jamaica. She notes the Canadian government recently partnered with the Jamaican government to aid with gender equality initiatives. The project is valued at 1.2 billion Jamaican dollars.
The Foreign Affairs Minister also highlighted Jamaica’s relationship with the United Kingdom and it is recent partnerships. Meantime, Minister Johnson-Smith says the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada are home to many Jamaicans, playing a major role in the strengthening of diplomatic ties.
