A thirty-three-year-old St. Catherine man has been charged with assaulting his father. He is Dermott Campbell otherwise called ‘Welder’, a welder of Rosemount District in the parish. He was arrested and charged with Wounding with Intent and Assault Occasioning Grievous Bodily Harm. This follows an incident in his community on Friday, May 7.
Reports from the Spanish Town Police are that Campbell and his father had a confrontation. Campbell used a machete to inflict a wound to his father’s head. He also used a piece of board to hit the complainant on his hand. The complainant was taken to hospital where he was treated.
Campbell was arrested and charged following a question and answer session. His court date is being finalised.
