The St Elizabeth principal who was attacked and chopped by a man on the school compound Friday is now in stable condition at hospital. Shortly after two, Friday afternoon tragedy struck at the Retirement Primary school in St Elizabeth when a machete-wielding man attacked the female principal.
The school chairman explains the suspect who is now in police custody had threatened the staff just a week prior. Samuels says he had encouraged the teachers to file a police report, which they did.
He says the school is in need of security. The chairman says he also sought the help of the Regional Coordinator in offering counselling to the staff and students, some of whom witnessed the near-fatal encounter.
Meantime, Cvm Live understands that sometime Saturday afternoon a man believed to be of unsound mind attacked and chopped two people in gutters in the parish before also being set upon by a mob.
The condition of the injured persons was unknown up to news time.
