St. Thomas Eastern MP Concerned About School Violence

Speaking in the Lower House for the second time, Member of Parliament for Eastern St. Thomas Dr. Michelle Charles provided an update on her constituency during the State of the Constituency Debate.

The Member of Parliament notes the parish has seen a major improvement in agriculture. She highlights a growing number of skilled workers benefiting from the overseas programs.

Dr. Charles says there is a preference for work abroad rather than locally.

Meantime, she says educating the youth is paramount, adding there was support from various stakeholders this school year in providing learning tools.

However, she notes the wave of violence in schools is a cause for concern.
