Study Shows Suicide More Prevalent Among Males

Despite Jamaica recording one of the lowest suicide rates in the world, activists are focused on reducing this rate even further. Speaking at the ‘Choose Life International Weekly Webinar’, testimonials were given with reference to overcoming suicidal tendencies, as the seminar sought to spread awareness and provide hope for those who might be having similar persuasions. 

The conversation was led by Minister Stacy-Ann Garvey who addressed the viral video of the man who killed himself in front of his children early August. She examined the stereotypes associated with men seeking help, adding it is a leading cause of suicide being more dominant among males.
