Two Soldiers Killed In Crash, Two Others Injured

Two dead, one in critical condition, and the other stable at hospital.  That is the status of the four soldiers who met their fate early Friday morning.

Reports are that the collision occurred around 3:30 am when their car was traveling southerly along Old Hope Road, where it is alleged the driver failed to negotiate a left-hand curve. The vehicle then went straight and collided into a perimeter wall.

Assistant Superintendent of Police in charge of the Accident Investigation and Reconstruction Unit Dellon Lewis, says preliminary reports have revealed, speeding played a major role in the severity of the accident.

Noting, there is no evidence to support the driver reacted swiftly enough to avoid the collision.

An alleged eyewitness says after seeing the accident, he supports the call for drivers to obey the speed limit, and drive with caution.

Lewis says the police are currently in possession of the black box to receive all the necessary information relating to the crash.
