Finding love, but at what cost? There are speculations that the recent interview aired on an American station featuring the fiancée of popular Dancehall Artiste Adidja Palmer commonly known as Vybz Kartel, is why the authorities transferred the Artiste from the Horizon Adult Correctional Institution.
He was moved to the Tower Street Adult Correctional Facility, also known as the General Penitentiary, GP. Vybz Kartel’s attorney, Isat Buchanan, says the Artiste should not be punished for being mentioned by the media, since he is, after all, an Artiste.
Buchanan recounts a similar incident last year, which led to the artiste being transferred from a St. Catherine-based prison to the Horizon Remand Centre. The lawyer notes concerns have arisen regarding Palmer’s health since he was transported during the rain.
Meantime, he describes these transfers as unnecessary, as he calls for improvement in inmates’ treatment and condition.
