Detectives assigned to the Westmoreland Police Division charged 26-year-old Ryan Myrie, otherwise called ‘Old Boy’, of Bay Road, Little London in Westmoreland with Murder and three counts of Shooting with Intent.
Myrie was charged yesterday, October 7.
Dead is 58-year-old Devon Clarke, otherwise called ‘Babsy’ who is a businessman of Darliston, in the parish.
It was reported that some time after 2:00, in the afternoon, Myrie- who was armed with a gun- allegedly approached Clarke at his business place and demanded money from him. However, when the demand was not met, Myrie reportedly shot the businessman several times. A tussle reportedly took place and Myrie was reportedly shot in his abdomen.
Myrie also reportedly fired several shots as he escaped, resulting in the injury of three other people.
A report was made and Myrie was subsequently arrested and placed on an identification parade, where he was pointed out. He was charged following an interview in the presence of his attorney.
His court date is being finalized.
CVM LIVE understands that another man, suspected to have been Myrie’s accomplice, is currently being sought by the Police.
