A woman is now dead after she was mowed down by a truck in Bamboo, St. Ann two days ago. The woman’s relatives are blaming the police, as they believe it was due to their late response, 61-year-old Loreen Whormes died.
Tragedy suffuses the air in Kimmer district, Bamboo, St. Ann as the loved ones of 61-year-old Loreen Whormes continue to mourn her gruesome death, mowed down by a truck on Wednesday.
Eyewitnesses say two trucks collided and spun out of control, hitting Whormes, who was standing on the sidewalk.
The man says community members called the police several times, but it still took them nearly an hour to arrive at the location.
He says the reason given by the police was a lack of available vehicles.
Several other residents and loved ones are blaming the police, as they say, Whormes may have lived if she had received medical attention earlier.
They claim the police are usually unreliable in such instances and are calling for a change in attitude.
Meanwhile, Whormes’ family continues to grieve, naming her loss as a major blow to the community.
