Panel Discussion

A Look at What it Means to be Vulnerable in Jamaica

What does it mean to be vulnerable in Jamaica? On this CVM Live Panel Discussion we explored the findings of a recently published United Nations Development Programme, (UNDP) report on the socio-economic impact assessment of COVID-19 pandemic and policy options in Jamaica.

The study that was done during the pandemic, which may provide insights into what makes Jamaican’s resilient under adverse conditions. What does the report reveal about traditional conceptions of vulnerability across areas of economy and being vulnerable in Jamaica, socially and health wise? And can public policy be better informed by those insights?

To discuss the findings of the UNDP report and its implications we were joined by Dr. Christine Clarke, Consultant Economist, UNDP multi country office in Jamaica and Dr. Arlene Bailey Senior Fellow, SALISES UWI Mona.
