A coalition of civil society organizations began their submissions to the Parliament on the National Identification and Registration Bill (NIDS BILL). This is part of the public consultation process for the new NIDS Bill which was tabled in December 2020 following the Supreme Court striking down the earlier version.
A coalition of three organizations identified key areas in which the Bill could be improved to ensure that privacy and human rights were fully respected.
To explore we are joined by Co-Convener, Civil Society Coalition on NIDS, Rodje Malcolm and Co-Founder of the Slahroots Foundation, Matthew Mcnaughton.
