Cost of Living is Up Stretching the Budget of Average Jamaicans

The cost of living is going up. Basic food items are now further stretching the budget of the average Jamaican. From the price of flour to the cost of chicken, the Jamaican consumer continues to pay the price of elevated input and transportation costs coupled with a 7.4% decrease in the value of the Jamaican dollar for 2021. Can Jamaicans anticipate a reprieve or are prices expected to rise even further?

To discuss the rising cost of living in Jamaica we are joined by Stevonne Nugent a member of the Economic Policy Committee of the PSOJ and Trevor Samuels, Past President of the National Consumers League.
