It is estimated that Jamaica has a homeless population of between 2,000-3,000 people, factors such as mental health, drug abuse, and increased economic hardship as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic lead to anecdotal accounts of up to a 300% increase in the local homeless population in certain geographical areas over the past 2 years.
