It has been two weeks since the partial reopening of the entertainments sector, and Jamaica’s covid trajectory has been a concern for many.
Some citizens believed this move to reopen the sector would likely lead to another spike in cases. With two weeks being touted as the earliest timeline of an indication of higher rates of infection, it appears as though the number of infections has had a slight uptick.
While the sector worst affected by the pandemic receives a glimmer of hope and patrons breathe a sigh of relief.
Can these measures be maintained and possibly extended?
And if the measures appear to be working- does it potentially contribute further to vaccine hesitancy?
