The Diaspora is declaring itself willing and able to assist in the understanding and ultimately the fight against crime in Jamaica.
With the formation of the Jamaica Diaspora Crime Intervention and Prevention Task Force, experts ranging from intelligence analysts to homicide specialists are offering their technical assistance to the Jamaica Constabulary Force.
The group is calling for the roll-out of an intelligence fusion centre; the creation of a safer cities programme; and working with the ministry of justice to reduce the backlog of court cases.
To discuss these issues we are joined by Dr Rupert Francis of the Jamaica Diaspora Crime Intervention & prevention task force and former law enforcement executive and attorney at law David Brown Esquire.
