Jamaica’s partnership with the European Union (EU) is said to be evolving beyond the traditional donor-recipient model to a more modern partnership of equals. The post-Cotonou agreement, which is the framework that will guide relations between the two blocs for the next 20 years, sets out a new architecture for political and economic cooperation between the EU and the Organisation of African, Caribbean, and Pacific States (OACPS) But how will this relationship of equals be achieved? And what areas of cooperation are on the agenda?
