“ATOMICA” & “MAMA MIA” Clash In Ian Levy Cup

The reigning Horse of the Year, “ATOMICA,” and the One Thousand Guineas winner, “MAMA MIA,” are poised to go head-to-head in the upcoming Ian Levy Cup on New Year’s Day, with a staggering purse of 4 million dollars at stake. The prestigious event, a Graded Stakes and Open Allowance race for 3-year-olds and up, promises to be a thrilling spectacle for horse racing enthusiasts. The post-position draw, a crucial moment in determining the horses’ starting positions, took place on Thursday, adding an extra layer of excitement to the forthcoming clash. Trainer Gary Subratie’s charge, “ATOMICA,” has been assigned gate three and will be guided by the skilled jockey Dane Dawkins. Positioned next to Atomica is “Sistren Treasure,” set to line up in gate two, while the formidable “MAMA MIA,” conditioned by Jason Dacosta, will take her position in gate one, with jockey Phillip Parchment in the saddle.

Adding more to the competition, “Is That a Fact,” another contender from Jason Dacosta’s stable, drew gate four. Completing the field is Richard Azan’s entry, “Perfect Brew,” with jockey Tevin Foster in gate five. The star-studded lineup promises a fiercely contested race over eight and a half furlongs on January 1st. Trainer Gary Subratie expressed confidence in Atomica’s preparation for the Ian Levy Cup, citing the horse’s exceptional form and the strategic placement in gate three. Subratie believes jockey Dane Dawkins will play a crucial role in steering Atomica to victory. On the other hand, Jason Dacosta, trainer of “MAMA MIA” and “Is That a Fact,” conveyed optimism about his entries’ chances in the upcoming race. With Mama Mia’s impressive track record and Phillip Parchment in the saddle, Dacosta believes they have a formidable combination that could secure victory in the Ian Levy Cup.

The clash between Atomica and Mama Mia, along with other talented contenders, sets the stage for an unforgettable New Year’s Day racing spectacle. Horse racing enthusiasts and sports fans alike eagerly await the outcome of the Ian Levy Cup, as these elite competitors vie for both glory and the substantial 4 million dollar purse.
