Champs Mount Pleasant Back To Winning Ways

In the latest Jamaica Premier League action, defending champions Mount Pleasant rediscovered their winning form with a decisive 1-0 victory over Humble Lion at Drax Hall on Sunday. Daniel Green sealed the win with a penalty conversion in the 48th minute, securing the top spot in the standings with 25 points. Close behind, Tivoli Gardens secured a 3-1 victory over winless Lime Hall at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex. Kimarley Smith opened the scoring for Tivoli in the 11th minute, and despite a Lime Hall penalty by Carlos Campbell in the 22nd minute, goals from Alton Lewis (44th minute) and Rodico Wellington (86th minute) maintained Tivoli’s unbeaten streak in their last six games.

Portmore United, seeking redemption after four consecutive losses to Arnett, turned the tables at Ferdie Neita Park, defeating the Junglists 2-0. Geo Headley (69th minute) and Shaquwell Henry (74th minute) were the goal scorers. Although tied with Tivoli on 24 points, Portmore sits behind on goal difference. Montego Bay United and Harbour View played to a 2-2 draw at Wespow Park, with Andre Fagan (15th minute) putting Harbour View ahead. However, goals from Jean Ferreira (27th minute) and Lucas Correa (32nd minute) gave Montego Bay a 2-1 lead before Omar Thompson salvaged a point for Harbour View with a goal in the 63rd minute. Vere United played spoiler on their visit to Treasure Beach at STETHS, defeating the hosts 2-0. Lamard Neil (43rd minute) and Alrick Maitland (46th minute) secured all three points for Vere United, impacting the league dynamics as the competition intensifies.
