Kingston, Jamaica: LeBron James, Steph Curry, Kevin Durant,and all the National Basketball Association (NBA) have a new base in the Caribbean as Verticast Media, the parent company of CSport and CVM-TV, goes all in with a multi-year and multi-platform broadcast agreement with the NBA.
CVM’s historic broadcast of the NBA officially began on Tuesday, November 28 as the Golden State Warriors blew a 24-point lead to lose to the Sacramento Kings, 123 to 124. CSport will also broadcast all live games on cable and via its app.
“This investment in the NBA is yet another move by CSport and CVM-TV that puts our audience first. The NBA broadcast supportsCSport and CVM –TV’s position of leaders in sports broadcast in the Caribbean,” said Olly McIntosh, Chief Executive Officer of Verticast.
Together, CSport and CVM-TV will broadcast over 150 NBA games per season including four to five regular season NBA games per week, the playoffs and one exclusive Conference Finals series. In addition, CVM-TV will also be airing The NBA Finals. NBA games will be broadcast via CSport on its cable channels, mobile app, and website as well as, for the first time, on free-to-air CVM-TV.
In addition to the live NBA games, CSport and CVM will broadcast other NBA content, such as highlight shows and classic NBA games, plus distribute the NBA-TV channel on its app and to all its cable operator partners in the Caribbean.
“We’ve listened to our audience and there is no doubt that the NBA is one of the most demanded tournaments in the region. We are excited to collaborate with the NBA to broadcast over 150 games per season as we continue to transform the way the Caribbean audience experiences sports content. We are ensuring that NBA fans have maximum options for viewing,” McIntosh said.
