2015 Olympic gold medallist, Danielle Williams not only won her first diamond League title, but also became the first Jamaican woman to win the 100m hurdles diamond league Title at the recently concluded Brussels diamond league finals. Williams lined up against a quality field which also involved world record holder, Kendra Harrison, was destroyed by a fast starting Williams who was destined to win after 50m.
“To win against this standard of field is just fantastic,” said Williams. “I’m also satisfied with the time because it was really, really cold. In Doha my ambition will be the same: first, make it to the final and then get a medal.”
As a result victory, Williams won the Diamond Trophy along with U.S $50,000. She will now enter into the 2019 World championships in Doha, as the favourite to win the 100m hurdles even as she is in superb form.
