Reggae Boy, Shamar Nicholson Transitions To Belgium

Reggae Boy, Shamar “Boza” Nicholson has signed a 4 year deal with Belgian club, Royal Charleroi, at an impressive  €1.5 million. Nicholson, who hails from the community of Trench Town, started his career at the Boy’s Town Football Club in 2015 and has successfully transitioned through the ranks for the last 4 years.

In September 2017, Nicholson signed with NK Domžale in Slovenia, on a free transfer as a result of his spectacular performance in the Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL).  Seizing his golden opportunity, the center-forward scored 18 goals in his 47 appearances for NK Domzale.

The 22 year old played into his nationalist role, taking his home team the Reggae Boys to the CONCACAF Gold Cup Semi-finals,  where he scored 3 goals in 6 appearances during the competition.

Nicholson shared, “This is a proud day for me, my family, friends, my boyhood club Boys’ Town, NK Domžale and all of Jamaica. I’m fully focused and I’m ready for the big challenge that’s in front of me.”
